The Trinity Knot is the most well known of the Celtic Knots. For most people the symbolism of the Trinity represents the Blessed Trinity (The Father, The Son & The Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost). The original meaning of the Trinity Knot is not certain as it was created before written language.

But the Celts also had a Triune God, or more correctly a Goddess, representing the three stages of womanhood - the Maiden, the Mother and the Crone (Wise old woman). During the christianisation of Ireland many pagan symbols were given new interpretations, as it is easier to convert people if you use elements that they are familiar with. This may be one example of this. In general, as true Celtic Knots have no beginning and no end, they are said to represent eternity.

Design elements of this cuff bracelet are:

  • Sterling Silver over Pewter with Antiqued Background
  • Bracelet is approx 1" wide
  • Opening can be adjusted a little to suit the wearer, but must not be continually adjusted
