Ireland's favourite cup of tea!

Lyons Original Blend Tea is the tea I grew up drinking. I still drink it several times a day, but the most important mug of tea is always first thing in the morning. Contrary to the popular belief that English people drink the most tea, Irish people actually drink 4-6 cups per day! Whenever someone comes for a visit, the first thing to do when they arrive, is put the kettle on for a cuppa.

If you have never made Irish Tea before, beware it is quite strong compared to American Tea (even so called Irish Blend Teas). Now, when we make tea, we make it in a teapot, but I'm sure most of you will be making it in a cup or mug.

How to make Irish Tea

• Bring the water to a rolling boil
• Steep the teabag for 3-5 minutes
• Lift the teabag out. Do not squeeze the teabag, or you will squeeze the bitterness out of the leaves, and you don't want bitter tea (or do you?)
• We add milk and some of us add sugar, but feel free to add lemon or whatever suits your tastes.
• Enjoy!

By the way, don't be fooled by the green box, this is black tea.
