The Triskele (or Triskelion, or Triple Spiral) is a very popular Celtic symbol and has been for a very, very long time. In fact it is inscribed on the entrance stone of Newgrange (ancient burial mound in Ireland), which dates back 5000 years!

Dating to to about 600 AD, we photographed this Ogham stone in Kilmalkedar Church, on the Dingle peninsular, in Co. Kerry. on our last trip to Ireland. The ogham carving reads "ẠṆM MẠỊLE-INBIR/ MACI BROCANN" - "Name of Máel-Inbher son of Broccán"
