This Sterling Silver ring is adorned with 5 Irish symbols - Trinity, Celtic Cross, Claddagh, Shamrock, and Harp. Let's take a closer look at each symbol in turn.

  1. Trinity – The most widely recognized of the Celtic Knots, the modern interpretation of the Trinity is of the Blessed Trinity – The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit/Ghost.
  2. Celtic Cross – Also known as a High Cross, is a cross with a circle through the arms. They were carved with abstract patterns, Celtic knots and/or depictions from the Bible. In a time when most people could not read or write, the images from the Bible were used as a teaching tool.
  3. Claddagh - The Heart (for love) and the Crown (for loyalty) of the well known Irish Claddagh are carved into this ring.
  4. Shamrock – St. Patrick is said to have used the Shamrock to explain the Blessed Trinity. The three leaves on one stem represented the three beings in one. It has been recognized as an Irish symbol ever since then.
  5. Harp – The national emblem of Ireland is displayed on many official Irish Documents. To name a few, it is on the Presidential Seal, Irish Passports, Irish euro coins and of course the Guinness logo (although the harp faces in the opposite direction on the Guinness logo).

This ring is a brilliant way to show off your Irish Heritage (and your knowledge of its symbols)!
