Going Home

Also, I am very excited to be off to Ireland this January. We will be attending the Showcase Ireland Trade Show (so let me know if you want us to look for anything, that you would like us to carry).

New Shop

I do like having this extra bit of freedom to travel! With the extra festivals we took on, it all worked out fine in the end. The search for a shop goes on, but with the uncertainty of import tariffs in the new year, it might not pay to invest in the level of stock a store would need right now.

Just got a new shipment of fine Celtic Cornish Pewter in. Many of these lovely items are one-offs or in very limited quantities, so I wanted you to have first look.

See us at the Quarryville Fire Company Holiday Craft and Vendor Show this Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 8am - 2pm.

Its a nice local fundraiser. I don't think there is an entrance fee, and there will 50-100 vendors, and a few food trucks there for sustenance.

This a one of the largest holiday shows in the country, It is completely indoors and all on one floor. With more than 550+ specialty shoppes, you are bound to find that unique gifts for family and friends.... maybe even a Celtic gift.

There is also Santaland - where you can snap a picture with Santa with your family or group; festive performances at the Entertainment stage; a large Model Train Display; a Christmas Lego Village; specialty themed evenings, food, refreshments and cocktails for sale; a pooch fashion show, and you can even meet the real "Zuzu" from the 1946 film "It's a Wonderful Life".

Celtic Penannular Brooch

This impressive penannular brooch is a striking accessory, decorated both on the hoop ends, and on the pin head, with a Trinity Knot.

This brooch would be as much at home on a renaissance costume, as on any modern clothing. This is a typical style of clothes fastener used in early medieval Ireland.

A pennanular brooch has a long pin attached to an open hoop, but the pin can move freely around the hoop. The fabric is enclosed between the hoop and pin. The pin is then turned until the pin tip is locked in place, just past the decorated hoop end. Unlike a modern brooch, where the pin stabs through the fabric, a pennanular brooch does not leave a permanent hole.
